Steven Parr - Director

Steven Parr is a graduate of Brown University (BA) and UCLA (MA), and he holds a Certificate of International School Leadership from the Principals' Training Center.


He was an administrator and sometimes also a teacher at one of the international schools in Tokyo for 19 years until he left the school in August, 2000. The inspiration and mission of New International School was developed out of that experience, combined with attendance at numerous workshops and conferences, which convinced him that a "New School" approach to education was imperative for the current and future generations of students.


He is a past Secretary and Vice-President of the Japan Council of International Schools (JCIS), Past-President of the Japan affiliate of the American-based Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (JapanASCD), and Past President of the Tokyo Association of International Preschools (TAIP).

ブラウン大学(学士)、UCLA(修士)卒業 Principals’ Training Center主催 International School Leadership証書取得 UCLA Extension主催 College Counseling証書取得。


2000年8月に至るまでの19年間、都内のインターナショナルスクールにてアドミニストレーターを務め、時折授業も担当。その経験と数々の研修、学会を通し、今日および未来の生徒たちには「新しい学校」のアプローチが欠かせないことを確信する。


日本インターナショナルスクール協議会(JCIS)セクレタリー・副会長、Japan ASCD会長、東京インターナショナル・プリスクール協会(TAIP)会長を歴任。
