New International School of Japan is a dual language school in English and Japanese. Primary and secondary classes all have two teachers, one who teaches in English and one who teaches in Japanese. In addition, there are several specialized teacher positions which may be taught in either or both languages. Experience with the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence would be ideal, but it is not required.
Here you will find the current employment opportunities available at NewIS. If you would like to apply for one of the available posts, please first read the below documents and also pay close attention to the “Person Specification” document for the particular post to ensure that your qualifications, skills, and experiences are relevant. Please be especially cognisant of the essential criteria requirements on the person specification.

ニューインターナショナルスクールは、英語と日本語の二言語併用教育を行っています。初等・中等教育の各学級に学級担任が2名おり、1名は英語サイド、もう1名は日本語サイドの担任となります。また、専科の教員は、英語または日本語、または英語と日本語の両言語で担当教科を指導します。スコットランドのカリキュラム「卓越へのカリキュラム」を使用した教授の経験があることが望ましいですが、必須ではありません。

Step 2 - Application

A position overview, including position name, start date, and the closing date for applications,
A link to the position person specification,
A link to the NewIS Teacher Application Form, or
A link to the NewIS Assistant Teacher Application Form,
A link to the job description and,
A link to the NewIS reference form in English and a link to the NewIS reference form in Japanese.
The Applicant…
...is expected to be familiar with the above linked documents, being sure to:
Complete all parts of the Teacher Application Form or Assistant Teacher Application Form, in consultation with the person specification, as thoroughly as possible,
Send the completed application form to the email address indicated,
Attach copies of qualifications and available background/ disclosure checks to the email. Although not an impediment to recruitment, background and/ or disclosure checks are preferred,
Complete only the first ‘personal details’ section of the reference form, and,
Send the reference form to the referee they have indicated in the application form.
(Please note, the referee then sends the completed reference to NewIS and NOT back to the applicant.)
